About South County Community Farmers' Market

In August of 2003, Park Ridge Community Church ran a trial Community Farmer’s Market to see if it would attract people from the neighborhood. We knew that several thousand cars pass our corner every day, but would they stop to shop? Yes, they did! The Community Market had phenomenal success, quickly growing from 30 vendors the first week to over 55 vendors the last week. Neighbors were drawn in and enjoyed the comfortable atmosphere and the opportunity to shop for local produce and crafts. The year of 2004 was the first full year of the Market with a consistent 40 vendors each week and a growing customer base through the summer.
